Beloved Berwyn Tavern soon to be sold: who’s taking over and what to expect

The landmark Berwyn Tavern – “the BT” to locals – is changing hands after 33 years.

“We had a great run,” says Henry Fischer, who bought the business back in 1992 as a silent investor.

After fed-up neighbors file suit, Upper Main Line YMCA pauses pickleball, ‘explores options’

The outdoor courts are padlocked but the racket over pickleball at the Upper Main Line Y (UMLY) is far from over.

After two years of back-and-forth with UMLY and Easttown officials that cut the hours of play but failed to quell the din to their satisfaction, neighbors decided to play hardball – they sued.

Deck the walls! Murals soon to multiply along Main Line

A new group, Mural Arts Commission (MAC) of the Main Line, is sponsoring the creation of murals on blank walls up and down the Pike.

Luxury pet-care palace taking shape in Wayne

Here’s a use for an old Rite Aid we didn’t see coming: a Ritz Carlton for dogs.

When it opens around Labor Day, K9 Resorts Pet Hotel and doggie daycare near the Devon Square Acme will span nearly 15,000 sq. feet (inside and out) and accommodate more than 100 dogs.

Longtime Paoli jeweler makes ‘difficult, bittersweet’ decision to close, liquidate inventory

In business for nearly 80 years, Walter J. Cook Jewelers is closing its 2,750 sq. ft. Paoli showroom. A storewide liquidation sale begins next week.

Deborah Van Cleve sold her Paoli business this week – the Van Cleve name included – to her longtime manager, Ashley Grape.
