Looking to live longer, healthier?
Take a page from Coach Vermeil’s playbook.
You’ll get that chance Friday, Oct. 17 at an inaugural luncheon summit hosted by Surrey Services’ new Beilenson Institute for Innovation in Aging.
The Hall of Fame Coach will headline the program at The Desmond Hotel Malvern which is ticketed and open to the public. Vermeil will share his personal tips for positive, vital aging and field audience questions. (No doubt he’ll tackle a few Eagles questions, too. ’Cause you can take the man out of football but ….)

At age 88, Coach Vermeil remains enviably spry, sharp and spirited. He still lives in Chester County and is the hands-on owner of award-winning Vermeil Wines in his native Napa Valley.
“Aging Like a Fine Wine” attendees will each receive a complimentary pour of the coach’s wine and enjoy a healthy lunch.
Before Coach takes the stage, an expert panel will share the latest recommendations and most innovative strategies for extending our “healthspans” in body, brain and spirit.
A special treat: Guests will be able to test drive some of those cool interventions at a speakers-and-sponsors mini-wellness fair in the ballroom’s atrium. Come early or stay late so you don’t miss it a chance to don a brain-boosting helmet, taste high-tech performance-enhancing water, test your metabolic efficiency/VO2 Max and more.
SAVVY Main Line’s Caroline O’Halloran will moderate the panel discussion and host the fireside chat with Coach Vermeil.
The luncheon’s expert panelists:

Chris and her team offer patients holistic pathways to health, melding traditional PT with a mind-body-spirit approach to healing that uses innovative tools and techniques.
Dr. Thomas H. Graham, MD, Main Line Health/Great Valley Neurological Associates (at right). An esteemed expert on brain health, Dr. Graham served as Chief of the Neurology Division and as Medical Director of the Stroke Program at Main Line Health and Paoli Hospital, and was appointed Medical Co-Director of the Neuroscience Initiative at Main Line Health. Proceeds from the event support Surrey’s multi-pronged work to improve the lives of seniors in our community.
“Living longer isn’t the issue. Living well is,” says Surrey CEO and President Jill Whitcomb. “More people are living longer than ever before — but longevity without quality of life isn’t enough. “The focus of Surrey’s Beilenson Institute is innovation. By strengthening the connections with older adults whom we serve, our community partners, and best-in-class providers doing great work, we can build a community of excellence around aging services.”
