Authorities have arrested a 26-year-old Uber driver for the alleged rape of a Villanova student in her dorm room. Mirvan Dinler of Trappe, PA is being charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, and indecent assault.
Police say the student and her friends took a rideshare to Philly to celebrate a friend’s birthday at a nightclub but the student felt sick and decided to return to campus. Her friends waited with her for Dinler’s Uber to arrive. After he dropped the student off at Havanian Hall in the Commons shortly after 11 p.m., Dinler allegedly returned to the student’s dorm room where he raped her and forced her to perform oral sex, according to police.
The Commons is the mammoth complex on Lancaster Avenue that was built in 2019. It includes six dorms, The Refectory restaurant and bar, a coffee shop and gym.

I don’t understand why the driver has merely been banned and not arrested??????
Caroline O'Halloran says
Reports of rape are investigated and verified – in this case, we just confirmed that Villanova Police are the investigating body – before arrests are made.

I hear you! I will contact Villanova’s press office to see if their campus police force (they are real police officers and are leading this investigation) have decided to file charges and arrest the suspect. Stay tuned.
