Villanova University’s safety office issued an alert Friday after a female student reported being raped in The Commons last weekend.
According to multiple news reports, the student told officials she was dropped off by her Uber driver who later entered her dorm in the Commons and assaulted her in the overnight hours of Sept. 13-14. The driver has been identified and barred from campus pending the results of the investigation. Uber has also banned the driver and has issued a statement saying it will cooperate with law enforcement.
The Commons is the mammoth complex on Lancaster Avenue that was built in 2019. It includes six dorms, The Refectory restaurant and bar, a coffee shop and gym.

I don’t understand why the driver has merely been banned and not arrested??????
Caroline O'Halloran says
Reports of rape are investigated and verified – in this case, we just confirmed that Villanova Police are the investigating body – before arrests are made.

I hear you! I will contact Villanova’s press office to see if their campus police force (they are real police officers and are leading this investigation) have decided to file charges and arrest the suspect. Stay tuned.
